Frequently Asked Questions
Kinesiology
-
Kinesiology is a gentle, holistic modality that works with the body’s feedback to identify stress patterns and support balance. Sessions can support the nervous system, emotions, energy, and the way stress is held in the body — often bringing clarity to what’s been feeling “stuck” or hard to shift.
This feedback allows us to explore what may be sitting underneath the surface, and what support your system is asking for across emotional, energetic, nutritional, and structural layers.
-
I’m trained in Progressive Kinesiology, a whole-person approach that honours the emotional, nutritional, physical/structural, and energetic needs of each client. Some branches of kinesiology lean more heavily into one area — Progressive Kinesiology is designed to support the full picture, so we can work with what’s most relevant for you in that season.
-
Kinesiology can support you through a wide range of concerns by working holistically across the emotional, energetic, nutritional, and structural layers of your wellbeing. Every session is guided by what your body is showing, so support is personalised rather than one-size-fits-all.
Kinesiology may support:
Emotional trauma and stress
Grief and loss
Sleep issues and insomnia
Fears and phobias
Goal achievement and clarity
Releasing self-sabotage patterns
Digestive issues (gut health)
Immune issues
Addictions and unwanted habits
Anxiety and low mood
Weight and body image concerns
Skin complaints
Hormonal symptoms
Learning difficulties and focus support
Aches and discomfort in muscles and joints
Allergies and food sensitivities

I work with you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms. Sessions are less about treating a named condition and more about listening to what your body is communicating underneath the surface — and supporting your system back toward balance.
Kinesiology isn’t used to diagnose medical conditions (that’s the role of your doctor). It can sit beautifully alongside medical care by supporting stress load, nervous system regulation, and the body’s capacity to heal and integrate.
-
Every person and every journey is different. For some, one session can offer meaningful insight and support. For others, a series of sessions creates space for deeper work to unfold over time.
Your initial appointment is a Deep Dive session, designed to gently explore what is present for you and where support is most needed. From there, you are welcome to continue with individual maintenance sessions when needed, or choose a bundle if that feels like the right fit for you.
-
In the same way strength is built through regular practice, kinesiology invites the body and nervous system into lasting change through steady, supported care. Each session creates space for your system to feel safer, more regulated, and more able to release what it has been carrying. Over time, this allows deeper healing to unfold in a way that feels sustainable and well supported.
My session bundles are thoughtfully designed to honour this process, combining consistency with spaciousness so that each session has time to integrate while gently building upon the last.
Available Bundles
Adults: 5 sessions for $600 (save $150)
Kids: 5 sessions for $450 (save $100)
Teens: 5 sessions for $550 (save $100)
The first four sessions are held weekly, with the fifth session taking place one month later to support deeper integration and ongoing progress.
Bundle payment is made at the first appointment, allowing the journey ahead to be held with clarity and ease.
-
No. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you like. Kinesiology doesn’t rely on you having the “right words.” We work with your body’s cues, which can be especially supportive when things feel hard to explain.
-
The muscle testing does not hurt. Your comfort throughout our session is my highest priority. Sometimes you may need a particular reflex point massaged. These points can be quite tender. Most clients find this is a nice pain as it is clearing a blockage. I will check how gently or deeply you would like the massage if your body asks for this technique.
-
Most clients leave their session feeling lighter, calmer, and more clear. It’s also normal to feel tired, quiet, or like your body wants a little extra rest — especially if your nervous system has been holding a lot. If you can, it’s beautiful to allow a slower hour after your session rather than rushing straight back into your day.
Sometimes people notice subtle shifts over the next few days as their system integrates (sleep, mood, energy, or the way they’re responding to stress). We work gently and at a pace your body can comfortably handle, and we aim to support smooth integration.
Before you leave, you may receive a few simple, personalised suggestions — such as an affirmation, a flower essence, gentle acupressure/massage points, nourishment support, or temporary food/lifestyle adjustments. We’ll always discuss what feels realistic and doable for you, so you can implement changes in a way that supports your life (not adds pressure).
You’ll leave with a clear, individual plan to follow between sessions — and you’re welcome to move at your own pace.
-
Most people do best with a little spaciousness afterwards: hydrate, eat something grounding, and allow an early night if you can. It’s normal to feel lighter, sleepier, calmer, or to notice subtle changes over the next few days as your system integrates.
Distant sessions
-
If travelling to my Sunshine Coast clinic isn’t possible, you can still work with me through distant sessions. These are held remotely at your booked time, so you can stay in your own space and receive support without the stress of travel.
-
Distant sessions can be just as powerful as hands-on sessions because we work through the body’s energetic field — which is still connected to your physical, emotional, and nervous system layers. Energy isn’t limited by distance, so whether you’re across the street or across the globe, we can still work together to support balance in your system.
Distant sessions are done using either a photo (and in some cases, a few strands of hair). Hair carries your unique energetic signature, which allows me to connect in and work with your body’s energy system in a focused, personalised way.
Distant sessions are held remotely at your booked time. You don’t need to be on a video call — you can be living your day as normal (working, at school, resting, or even sleeping). Many people love this because it removes the pressure of an appointment and allows the body to stay in its natural environment.
At the scheduled time, I’ll run the session and follow what your system is showing, just as I would in person. After your session, I’ll email you a clear summary of the findings and any gentle, personalised supports to integrate at home.
If a personalised flower essence comes up for you, I will post it to you ($10 postage charge will apply) or if you local you can pick it up from my clinic. And if anything feels unclear or you’d like to talk it through, you’re welcome to reply to the email — we can continue via follow-up email, or organise a quick call if needed.
-
Distant sessions are a beautiful option for young children, the elderly, or anyone who needs care from home (including those in palliative care).
They’re also ideal when getting to an appointment simply isn’t supportive — whether you’re time-poor with work commitments, feeling too unwell to leave the house, living interstate or overseas, or in the postpartum season at home with a newborn or little ones.
Distance is no barrier. If receiving support from home suits you best, a distant session can be a calm, practical choice.
-
No. There’s nothing you need to do. The only thing I ask is that you’ve booked a time that feels supportive (so you’re not adding stress), and that you’re open to resting afterwards if your body asks for it.
Kids & teens
-
Absolutely. Kinesiology, Energy Reset, and Reiki are all gentle, non-invasive modalities — and they’ve always been my personal go-to choices for supporting my own children.
For kids (5–12) and teens (13–16), kinesiology offers a nurturing way to explore what may be sitting at the heart of your child’s experience, so we can better understand what their body is asking for and what support may help. Using gentle muscle monitoring, we can identify where stress or imbalance may be held — emotionally, energetically, structurally, and nutritionally — without your child needing to verbally articulate everything.
Please note: For children under 12, Energy Reset is offered via distance only, as this format tends to be the most supportive for their nervous system and attention span.
-
Yes — I support babies aged 0–2 through my Mum + Bub sessions (offered via distance). These are designed for the postpartum season, when you need support but don’t have the capacity for appointments or extra pressure.
Mum receives support for her own nervous system and recovery, while baby also receives gentle support — all from the comfort of home.
For children aged 2+, I offer Mum + Child sessions, where mum can receive support for herself and also act as a surrogate for her child.
See my Mum + Child FAQ section for more on these.
-
Every child is different, but sessions commonly support:
emotional regulation and big feelings
worries/anxiety and overwhelm
sleep and settling
confidence and self-esteem
school transitions, learning stress, and social/friendship dynamics
stress held in the body (tension, headaches, tummy discomfort)
resilience through change (family shifts, grief, moving house)
nutritional support (appetite, picky eating, nourishment, energy, steadier mood)
gut / immune support themes that often show up in childhood
-
Yes — in person sessions are available at my clinic, and distant sessions are also available. Many families choose distant sessions when travel is difficult, when kids are unwell, unable to sit through a session or you have other children you need to care for. Distant sessions offer all of the same benefits as coming in person from the comfort of your own home.
-
Sessions are gentle and age-appropriate. Depending on what their system shows, we may use emotional, structural, energetic, and nervous system support. Kids don’t need to “talk it all out” — we work with the body’s cues, and I keep the process clear and supportive.
-
Yes. Many children and teens don’t want to explain everything with words — and they don’t need to. I work in a way that supports their system without pressure, and we go at a pace that feels safe. This is also where distant session, or surrogate sessions come in handy.
-
You’re welcome here. Sessions can support children and teens through change — including grief, separation, moving house, school changes, or family stress — in a way that’s gentle for them and their nervous-system.
Mum + Child sessions
-
A Mum + Bub session is gentle support for the postpartum season — created to reduce stress, not add to it. These sessions support mum’s nervous system and recovery, while also offering calm support for baby, all from the comfort of home.
Distant only, so you don’t need to rush, travel, or manage an appointment during an already full season.
Best for: postpartum overwhelm • sleep disruption • feeding/settling support • bonding • birth processing • nervous system regulation • when leaving the house feels like too much
-
A Mum + Child session supports mothers and their children beyond the baby stage. Mum can receive support for herself, and may also act as a surrogate for her child — meaning the child does not need to be present.
This is a beautiful option when your child is highly sensitive, appointments feel like “too much,” or you’d like space to explore bigger themes without the worry of your child being there.
Available in-person or distant.
Best for: sensitive kids • worries/anxiety • big emotions • sleep support • behavioural shifts • transitions (kindy/school, moving, separation, new sibling) • family stress/overwhelm • support for mum’s steadiness and capacity
-
For in person surrogate sessions, mum attends and the child does not need to be present. For distant sessions Nina uses herself as the surrogate for mum and child.
-
A Child session (5–12) is centred primarily on your child — their nervous system, emotions, and what their body is asking for.
A Mum + Child session (2+) is centred on the relationship and the system around the child — with mum receiving support and/or acting as surrogate. This option is especially helpful when you’d like to explore bigger themes without your child being present.
Often, supporting mum’s nervous system and emotional load creates a noticeable shift for the whole household — because families naturally co-regulate. When mum feels more steady and resourced, it often becomes easier for everyone else to settle too. In that way, when mum is back in flow, the home tends to follow.
Energy Reset
-
Energy Reset is a modality that weaves together techniques from Progressive Kinesiology, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Sacred Geometry, and Crystal Healing. It combines clear intention-setting with supportive energetic tools such as sound, colour, sacred geometry symbols (including the Platonic solids), crystals, and energy point stimulation.
Energy Reset focuses on rebalancing the energetic body and aura — creating space for your system to settle, recalibrate, and feel more like you again. Each session is guided with intention and purpose, based on what your body is showing it needs in the moment.
-
Energy Reset is more focused on clearing and recalibrating the energetic body (aura layers, chakras, meridians) and aligning your system with an intention.
Kinesiology sessions tend to be more holistic and detailed, often working across emotional, energetic, nutritional, and structural layers with a deeper “why” exploration. -
Energy Reset sessions can support anyone — and they can be especially helpful if you’ve been moving through stress, burnout, emotional heaviness, or prolonged life pressure and your system feels like it needs a full recalibration.
This work is often supportive for people who have experienced:
long-term stress or nervous system overload
trauma (big or small), including difficult life seasons that have left you feeling “switched on” or shut down
bullying (in childhood or adulthood)
emotionally draining relationships, workplaces, or family dynamics
periods of feeling disconnected from themselves, their direction, or what feels meaningful
You might consider an Energy Reset if you’ve been noticing:
fatigue, lethargy, or low motivation
frequent illness or feeling “run down”
hormonal symptoms or feeling out of rhythm in your body
sleep disturbances, nightmares, or difficulty switching off
anxious feelings, low mood, or mental fog
feeling flat, disconnected, or like you’ve lost your spark
self-care feeling hard to access (even when you want to)
Energy Reset can also be a preventative form of support — a way to keep your energy clear, your intentions steady, and your system feeling more resourced. It’s an invitation to release, reset, and restore, so you can move forward with more clarity, strength, and alignment.
-
An Energy Reset session has three stages: Release, Reset, and Restart.
Release
We begin by gently exploring what may be draining your energy right now — patterns, pressures, emotions, or old stories that feel heavy. You’ll write these down and we’ll symbolically burn them as a release ritual. From there, we clarify what you’re calling in next and set clear goals and intentions. We then choose a symbol to represent your intention — something that helps hold the frequency of what you’re creating.Reset
You’ll then lie comfortably on the massage table, holding harmoniser rods, with crystals placed on or around your body. This is the deeply restful part — you don’t need to “do” anything. I guide the reset process, supporting your system through your meridians, chakras, and aura layers, helping them align with the intention you’ve set.Restart
To finish, you’ll receive simple aftercare guidance to support integration — helping you stay aligned with your intention in a way that’s realistic and supportive for your daily life. -
Yes — Energy Reset is available both in-person and as a distant session. For distance, the flow remains the same — we set intentions and complete the Release piece via email/phone, the Reset is then held remotely at your booked time, and you’ll receive your Restart/aftercare guidance by email afterwards.
-
No. We’ll gently uncover what needs releasing and what you’re ready to call in. If you do have a clear intention, we’ll refine it together so it feels true in your body.
-
Not at all. There’s a short check-in and intention-setting at the start, and then the Reset stage is deeply restful. You can be quiet, simply receive, and let your system do what it needs to do.
-
Yes — the session is designed to be gentle and supportive. We go at a pace your system can handle, and we can keep the intention simple and grounding if you’re feeling raw or tender.
-
Everyone is different. Some people feel warmth, tingles, heaviness releasing, emotion moving, or deep calm. Some people feel very little in the moment — and notice shifts afterwards in sleep, mood, energy, or clarity. All of these are normal.
-
Most people feel lighter, clearer, calmer, or more energised. It’s also normal to feel tired afterwards — especially if your body has been holding a lot. I recommend hydration and a gentle evening where possible.
-
No. You can be going about your day (working, resting, at school pick-up — anything). Many people prefer this because it removes the pressure of an appointment and lets the body stay in its natural environment.
-
Yes — with one note: for children under 12, Energy Reset is offered via distance only, as it’s generally the most supportive format for their nervous system and attention span.
Reiki
-
The sacred roots of Reiki can be traced back to ancient Tibet, with its modern form emerging in the late 19th century under the guidance of Japanese Buddhist Dr. Usui.
The word Reiki comes from two Japanese terms: Rei (universal/spiritual) and Ki (life force energy). Ki is similar to Qi/Chi in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Prana in yogic/Ayurvedic traditions.
Reiki is received as a calm, supportive energetic treatment that helps the body settle into a more regulated state — supporting balance across body, mind, emotions, and spirit.
In awakening the body’s innate vitality, Reiki guides the body back to a natural state of harmony and equilibrium.
-
Reiki is primarily used to support your energetic and nervous system wellbeing, helping you shift out of stress mode and into a more settled, restorative state. When your system softens, many people notice improvements in things like rest, clarity, and resilience.
Reiki is supportive for:
stress and nervous system overload
anxious feelings and emotional heaviness
sleep support and deep rest
burnout, fatigue, and feeling “flat”
feeling disconnected and needing gentle reconnection
integration after intense seasons or emotional processing
-
In my practice, Reiki is offered as a distant session. You don’t need to be on a video call. Simply set aside a quiet window to lie down, rest, and receive — or, if it suits you, you can continue your day gently and notice what shifts afterwards.
Many people experience a deep sense of calm, softening, and inner quiet during (or after) a distant session.
-
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive modality and is suitable for people of all ages and life stages. It can be especially supportive when you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, emotionally tender, or simply in need of deep rest.
